I joined Kaweka Hospital as the Nurse Manager. I am responsible for building and retaining great teams, ensuring patient safety and creating efficient and effective systems of work whilst always looking to improve. Prior to joining Kaweka Hospital’s leadership team I was the Associate Clinical Nurse Manager at the Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, where I worked for 18 years.

I am passionate about continuously seeking improvements within the perioperative setting to enhance both patient and staff experiences.

I moved to the Hawke’s Bay in 2018 after living in Wellington for a long time. I’ve been working in the technology sector for 7 years, before moving into the healthcare sector in 2018. I am passionate about using technology to improve how we provide healthcare to our community. Kaweka Hospital is an amazing initiative in this region and the team is motivated to create and provide a new, patient-centric, model of care.

Before joining Kaweka, I worked in Auckland while obtaining my Chartered Accountancy qualification before making the move to the United Kingdom where I worked in a finance manager role at a tech & wellbeing start-up.

My focus is on ensuring financial policies and procedures are established with supportive technology and systems, to implement and monitor operational budgets and to assist with obtaining funding for each stage of the build and to ensure there is careful cashflow planning and monitoring for Kaweka to meet financial objectives.

I am really excited about being an integral part of building the foundations of Kaweka Hospital and to work and learn alongside a team of highly experienced team members to to enable their vision to be leaders in private healthcare for the Hawke’s Bay region and New Zealand.
